BIOGRAPHY


Born on August 30, 1996, in Ghaziabad, India, Diship Garg is a versatile artist who excels as a singer-songwriter, music director, data and policy analyst, author, sound engineer, graphic designer, and video editor. He began his journey at age 7 with devotional singing and has since built a vibrant 15-year career focused on elevating Indian music worldwide.

Diship’s craft is continually honed under the guidance of Ms. Preeti and notable mentors like Bhajan Samrat Anup Jalota and Ravindra Jain. His academic achievements include a Master’s in Music Business (Music Technology) from New York University, a Master’s in Indian Classical Vocal from Indira Kala Sangit Vishwavidyalaya, a Master’s in Public Policy from St. Xavier’s, Mumbai, and a Master’s in Economics.

Throughout his illustrious career, Diship has received prestigious honors, including being named ‘India’s Youngest Bhajan Singer’ by the India Book of Records in 2008. He has been recognized by prominent dignitaries, including the former Vice President of India, the Defence Minister of India, and former Chief Ministers of Delhi and Uttarakhand, for his contributions to music. In 2009, the Government of Sri Lanka invited him to perform in Colombo, further amplifying his global presence.

Diship’s professional journey includes a decade-long association with T-Series, where he has released seven albums, starting in 2008 and concluding with his most recent release in 2014. He has also collaborated with Twelve Strings Productions, resulting in eight tracks available on platforms like Spotify, Apple Music, Saavn, and Gaana.

He has worked at Adhyâropa Records LLC, managing operations for 50 artists, and at New York University as a graduate program assistant, coordinating major music business events and producing educational podcasts. His role as a Concert Recordist enhanced his technical skills in audio documentation.

Diship’s innovative spirit shines through his work on VR projects at New York University’s Create Research Lab, merging music and technology. As an Artist Management Operations Intern at AEG Presents-TMWRK Management, he contributed to marketing campaigns, presale coordination, and content production for artists like Major Lazer, Sierra Hull, TV On The Radio, Joe P, Jai Paul, Mackned, and Honky Tonk.

Beyond music, Diship is dedicated to societal impact, teaching music to underprivileged students through NGO Antarang and engaging in cultural diplomacy with India’s Ministry of External Affairs. He is also the author of “Music – The Mirror of the Soul,” which explores music’s societal impact.

His journey is further distinguished by academic honors, including New York University’s ‘Outstanding Contribution to the Graduate Music Business Program,’ the ‘Steinhardt Alumni Scholarship,’ and the ‘Dean Mary Brabeck Scholarship.’ Diship’s commitment to music, education, and community continues to inspire his pursuit of excellence in the evolving landscape of music and beyond.
